About Me

I know first hand the daily struggle and relentlessness of sickness, disease and impaired function, after recovering from a life-threatening illness in my 20’s and then caring for an injured family member in my 30’s. In my professional career as a Speech Pathologist in the disability sector for over a decade, I have worked closely with family members and primary caregivers. I have witnessed many become lost, stuck, unfulfilled and unsatisfied in themselves as they care for their significant other.

'Soul Care for Carer's combines clinical Speech Pathology services with a niche focus/attention on supporting, training and educating the village around the person with a disability. The more you can regulate your own soul (mind, will and emotions), the greater the impact and outcomes on those whom you care for.

My clinical experience includes children and adults with complex communication needs that require Augmentative and Alternative Communication supports (low or high technology). Disabilities/disease include (but are not limited to), Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's, Motor Neuron's Disease, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Chromosomal Disorders. I am passionate about supporting one's expressive communication for community access, social and emotional relationships and pursuit of their goals and ambitions.

Within my career as a Speech Pathologist (La Trobe University), I have also completed a Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Monash University), Health Coaching (Institute of Integration Nutrition) and Massage Therapy (Evolve College), all of which underpin the holistic approach within 'Soul Care for Carers'.

'Soul Care for Carers' can be funded privately or with National Disability Insurance Scheme (self or plan managed).

Testimonials

Mary

Hannah has been exceptional in supporting me since my husband was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's 2 years ago. Hannah has helped me realise I am more than a carer and I have started to experience joy in this season of my life (which I haven't felt in a long time).

Jayne

Hannah has been a steady, compassionate guide through one of the most overwhelming and complex seasons of my life. As a single mum with a son with ASD, life has had its challenges. In the midst of it all, Hannah created a space where I could let go of the mask, bare the struggle and feel truly seen and heard. My sessions with her have been nothing short of life giving. I have been able to rediscover the parts of myself that I thought were lost.

Megan

I am so glad I invested money and time into this support service. It's so different to any other service. Hannah is someone who is patient, willing to listen and come alongside you in times of struggle. I have had so much more clarity since working with Hannah as I navigate having a child with ADHD, which has affected my family greatly.
